Your school will be given an opportunity to nominate ONE student who deserves to be acknowledged for their dedication and the growth they have shown when undertaking DanceSport. DanceSport is not about the competition aspect of the gala event, it is a celebration of the core values the children exercise when interacting with their partner, which is respect, perseverance and the lifelong skills they acquire during their 15 week journey. DanceSport pushes students into the unknown.
The DanceSport Gala Coordination Committee is inviting you to nominate a student who has demonstrated a positive and exemplary personal journey of growth in the 15 weeks of the program. This student is not necessarily the best dancer. Your nominee in some way should have stretched themselves and taken risks in their 15 week journey. They also need to have demonstrated self-discipline and effort towards their learning. Please refer to the Department of Education Wellbeing Framework to help you decide if your nominee is a worthy recipient of the Metropolitan South Operational Directorate DanceSport Achievement Award. School coordinators will receive an email with the criteria, closing date and nomination form. If your nominee is the award recipient, an email will be sent to the nominating teacher. Please note that the student will be acknowledged at the Gala Event. Please do not hesitate to contact your mentor if you have questions. |
