The committee may be in a position to offer some financial assistance to new schools from low socio economic areas. This may be in the form of a subsidy to assist in the purchase of costumes that the school will then keep. If your school would like to investigate this option, please forward a short request to the committee via email@example.com
Participation in the DanceSport Challenge will involve the following costs:
Schools will participate in 15 lessons at $6 per lesson per students. Total cost per student is $90
For Example: 30 students @ $90= $2700 – this is the amount the school will be invoiced by the dance company.
If your school has previously participated in the program, you may have costumes you can reuse. It is suggested that you hire these out to the children so that you collect money to purchase replacement costumes, cleaning etc. Lycra fabric for accessories needs to be purchased by new schools (refer to Schools Contact list for colours already selected).
Each school will receive 2 complimentary tickets for the Gala Night (11/12 September). Teachers working with the dance teams will receive a wrist-band that gives access to all areas.
Students who are dancing do NOT pay for entry!
All other tickets are to be purchased through Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre ticketing agent (Ticket Booth Australia) during Term 3 and are not the responsibility of the school. These can be printed off at home thus saving money and will then be scanned for entry by staff on the Gala night.
Schools need to be aware of the following additional costs: Meal packs ordered for the Gala Night - (includes GST) to be confirmed later in Term 2 (ordering forms to be emailed to each school) in preparation for orders.
Bus costs - Some schools choose to travel to the venue on the Gala night by bus. This is a very good idea and you may be able to ‘buddy up’ with a nearby school to reduce costs. Some schools only have a ‘one-way’ ticket, with parents/caregivers taking students home at the end of the evening.
